Introducing LUXE: A Sumptuous Curation of Fashion & Furniture, on display at The Gallery on Federal through February

JANUARY 2025

KSD Designs & The Gallery on Federal, an interior design studio and art gallery based in historic Newburyport, Massachusetts, unveil LUXE, a first-of-its-kind art and furniture collection that shines a light on where fashion, art and interiors meet. From an exclusive collection of vintage Hermès scarves framed to showcase the artistry behind them to collectible oil paintings, prints, fixtures and furniture, the show is both luxurious and accessible, designed to spark all the creativity for the new year.

A LUXE DESIGNER
Aligned with the maximalist trend of more is more design, LUXE is the cheeky brainchild of head designer Kate Daskalakis whose personal taste and aesthetic leans both fun and luxurious, with a distinct nod to the antique. Kate believes that the perfect home is an archive—a curation of old and new, found and collected, living comfortably with clean modern design and bespoke charm. Her interiors create a sense of informal beauty and comfort that has become her signature look, as in a whimsical dollhouse renovation in Ipswich, a historic English-style cottage in West Newbury and an elegant coastal home in Marblehead.

EVERY PIECE HAS A STORY
Taking a cue from her love of fashion and design, Dasklakis frames five of the classic French écharpes and places them alongside works by painter Donald Jurney, 80’s Chanel brooches, and period furniture and fixtures from The Archive collection of New England-sourced antiques. The vibe is the perfect pairing of vintage and modern, a sought-after look that can only be created when every piece is deliberate and has a story.

LUXE opened on December 13th and is on display at The Gallery on Federal in Newburyport (2 Federal Street, Newburyport, MA 01950) through Feburary 28th, with open gallery hours and by inquiry only design appointments in the studio.
