Knowing how to choose art will give you confidence to create a uniquely personal display. When it comes to designing interiors and spaces too often artwork is treated as an afterthought. However, with Kate, it's merely forethought. Sometimes her spaces are designed carefully around a hand selected piece and when chosen thoughtfully, art has the ability to transform a space and infuse it with personality.
That's why The Gallery was born - to merge the two worlds together; where art selection and interior design can be presented hand in hand and no longer an afterthought, giving you an immediate focal point and instant palette.
Set up your private appointment today to come visit our Gallery, located at 2 Federal Street in Newburyport's beautiful brick mill Tannery.
Kate’s design experience is vast, having worked with clients all over New England as well with other design professionals to bring an ease to home renovations.
Her style is natural, organic, and is inspired by art, travel, and family history. She believes that your home should tell your story while providing comfort and functionality.
She loves blending old with new and has a knack for antique sourcing. Kate’s hope is that each client feels confident in their own personal design style, and she truly enjoys helping them to create a space that is true to them. Kate’s approach is collaborative, meeting clients where they feel best in their design process.

Moody Abstract Landscapes
While living in Boston, Emily worked at the Museum of Fine Arts as an art educator and program manager. She has taught studio art classes to people of all ages and backgrounds and holds a core belief that art is for everyone.
Emily also has a unique perspective on how art can actually affect a person’s wellbeing from her experience teaching art workshops at world-renowned hospitals such as Dana Farber, Boston Children’s Hospital, and MGH. She has seen first-hand how art has the power to calm, inspire, ignite conversation, and tell meaningful stories.
Her aesthetic leans modern, abstract, often colorful and geometric. She loves when art is conceptual and tells a story. Blending these styles to compliment and elevate home interiors is an ongoing obsession. Emily can be found frequenting galleries and museums throughout New England and is thrilled to be bringing unique works of art to The Gallery in Newburyport and into people’s homes.
As an extension of our design studio, we believe that art should be selected as an expression of your heart. It should celebrate life, spark joy, inspire you to do something great or calm you in that cozy space.
What atmosphere do you want to create for your space? Dramatic, neutral, or harmonious? The artwork’s palette can either match, contrast, or redefine the tones of its surroundings, through endless bespoke combinations that can make a place unique.
Our philosophy starts with a simple mindset, focusing on timeless and sophisticated pieces, pieces you can layer in cozy and comfortable spaces, and pieces to elevate that gathering place. Spend time with your art, let it speak to you. Then you'll know it was meant for you.
We love working with other designers, architects, and decorators.
